The DM986 - SFP is a GPON ONU (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) in SFP format, and is an excellent solution for optical access in broadband applications and Triple Play services (voice, video and data). This technology allows optical fibre to be shared between customers, reducing costs and maximizing the use of bandwidth and installed fibres.

This ONU is a pluggable model that operates in bridge mode. It can be used with network equipment that has SFP interfaces.

The DM986-SFP ONU is compatible with the ITU-T G.984 and G.988 standards for high-speed optical fiber access applications. Ethernet data is transported transparently over the GPON link and delivered to an OLT (Optical Line Termination) unit.
