GPON ONU

GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) is an optical access solution that offers high speed and excellent cost-effectiveness for broadband applications and Triple Play services (voice, video and data). This technology allows the sharing of optical fiber among customers, reducing costs and maximizing the use of bandwidth and installed fibers.

The ONU GPON DM986-416 AX1800 is a complete model and compatible with the ITU-T G.984 and ITU-T G.988 standards for high-speed optical fiber access applications. It is capable of offering data, voice and video services over IP to users, making it an ideal solution for optical access applications. Ethernet data is transported transparently over the GPON link and delivered to a line termination unit (OLT) such as the DM4610 OLT (4-GPON and 8-GPON), DM4615 OLT (16-GPON) and DM4618 OLT (64 -GPON).

The DM986-416 AX1800 is equipped with a class B+ GPON transceiver, which allows data transmission at a rate of up to 2.5 Gbps downstream and 1.25 Gbps upstream. In addition, the equipment has an Integrated PTO, allowing a better installation of the fiber.

One of the main features of the ONU DM986-416 AX1800 is its Wi-Fi6 Dual Band interface, which offers high speed and reliability for an extremely fast network with greater capacity. In addition, backwards compatibility with previous versions of Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/ac makes the transition to Wi-Fi6 even easier and more cost-effective. External high-gain antennas mounted on four poles provide superior coverage. Together with 2x2 MIMO and Beamforming at 5.8GHz, the DM986-416 AX1800 creates a fast and stable Wi-Fi connection. In the 2.4 GHz frequency, the rate can reach 574 Mbps, while the 5.8 GHz frequency offers throughput up to 1200 Mbps.

With four Gigabit Ethernet LAN interfaces, the DM986-416 AX1800 enables extremely fast and stable wired connection. In addition, it has an FXS voice interface that enables the use of telephony services through the fiber optic network.

The ONU DM986-416 AX1800 also has a remote management resource through the TR-069 protocol, allowing the internet provider to manage all the CPEs installed in its subscribers. This enables remote diagnostics and testing, reducing operating costs.
